The stress response is an unpleasant fight or flight
mode the body enters to protect itself from danger. When your autonomic nervous system
responds to stress, several parts of the body react, including your heart rate, digestion,
respiratory rate, urination, and pupil response.
How You Feel Stress
When your body prepares for a potential fight or flight it releases hormones that will have you
physically and mentally ready for this danger.
This means all other bodily functions like your
digestion, are put on pause.
The bodily reactions include the following:
● Accelerated heart rate
● Paling or flushing
● Slowed digestion
● Blood vessel constriction
● Dilated muscles
● Pupil dilation
● Tunnel vision
● Shaking
