What you drink?

You can survive for weeks without food, but only for a matter of days without water.

Cells function in a fluid environment. Without adequate fluids, cells can't function.

Since the body is over one-half water, it stands to reason that water is vital to your body.

Fluid replacement is essential to life, but any time fluid (or any other substance) is put into the body, the body is stressed, it must change the way it is functioning to process the new substance.

Even water must be processed, although it causes the least internal upheaval. It should come as no surprise that drinking even common, everyday drinks, such as coffee, tea, colas, and alcoholic beverages, puts greater stress on the body than does drinking pure water.

The body must not only process the drinks, it must also contend with their stimulating effects. Problems can arise when stimulants are an integral part of your regular diet. Un remitting stimulation, whether from worry and anxiety or from coffee and alcohol, is unremitting stress.

Most of us have heard or read that we should drink eight glasses of water a day. Not bad idea, if you eat the kinds of foods most people eat. But when you eat mostly plant food, you need to drink only when you're thirsty.

Fruits and vegetables are convenient little packages of beneficial nutrients, minerals, fiber, and water all rollen into one. And the water is fresh, pure water. The plant has already filtered out the impurities.

The most healthful beverages you can drink to satisfy your thirst are pure water and juices made from fresh fruits and/or vegetables. The best water is that which is purified by reverse osmosis method.
